Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.

Good romance for teen girls

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
I thought this book was pretty good for teen girls. The main character, Bella, is shown as an average girl - not too popular, very clumsy, but well liked. I think she is a character for a lot of kids out there to relate to.

The romance is everything you remember your first intense high school crushes to be. The relationship between Bella and Edward is passionate - but there are no sex scenes in the book and the characters seem okay with that. Heck, they even have a hard time kissing for the first time.

I know that many adult women are going wild over this series. While it's not the best thing I've ever read as an adult - it might be something fun for a mom and teen girl to read at the same time.

Popular Teen Romance

I know I'm in the minority when I say that I thought this book was only ok. Normally when you hear Twilight, it is followed by a dreamy sigh and then a "wasn't it awesome?!" I did like the book, but I didn't think it was the greatest story ever told. I agree that it is a good romance for teen girls, it's clean and I appreciated that the young male characters were gentlemen instead of teen horn dogs. However, I feel like it lacked something.
It was an easy read, but I was pretty bored until chapter 17 (the baseball game) and remember thinking to myself, finally some excitement.
All in all, this is a good read for teenage girls (and even their mothers), but I feel like the excitement over the books is more of a fad.

Teens will LOVE it.

I liked it. I knew, opening the book that it was mostly meant for teen girls, and it was. But keeping that in mind it was exciting and romantic, nothing raunchy. Not many boring parts that made me want to flip through without paying attention, yet it was an easy enough read that I could read it with the TV on and the kids playing around me and still concentrate on the story and enjoy it. I could relate to Bella, the main character that she is just a normal teen girl... (other than having a vampire boyfriend) I would definitely buy this for a teen or even someone who needs a book just good book to read while camping or at the beach or wherever.
