One of my favorites

This is one of my very favorite children's books. I heard my sister read, 'I Love You, Stinky Face' to her two kids when we were visiting them on vacation and I immediately went to the book store and bought it when we got home.

The story is about a mom and son talking about what she would do if he were ever to turn into a big scary ape, or a one-eyed monster. No matter what he throws his moms direction she reassures him that she would love him even if she had to do gross things like filling his lunch box with spiders and ants. It's a sweet story of unconditional love without being too sappy.

The illustrations are colorful and fun - but not really exceptional. I do like the fact that, at least in the board book version, the art covers all the pages leaving no white space. That's not always a good thing - but for this artist it works.

Not so stinky!

I love you, Stinky Face! Is a GREAT book. It was the first book I bought when I was pregnant with my first child and I have read it ever since she was in my belly! (now she is four and we still love it) There are funny and sweet parts and the illustrations are superb. It helps my children expand their imagination by making up our own "stinky face" characters and assuring each other we will always love our family NO MATTER WHAT!
