Serious silliness for all ages when 1 big barking dog gets 9 new friends. A counting book for young kids that gives parents a chance to see how well they can bark, yap, and bow wow wow!

Better get your barking voice out!

Doggies by Sandra Boynton is a basic concept book that starts with one big yellow dog with a big "WOOF!". The story continues on adding all different kinds of dogs with all different voices. The pictures are classic Boynton and just as cute as can be, and while I am not a huge fan of counting books that have no story other than just numbers on the page, this book kind of makes up a story all it's own.

When I read this book I like to really get into the voices and try to get them all different - so this may not be the best 'take to the doctors office to keep the kids busy' type of story.
