I remember reading this series as a child

I remember really enjoying these Little Critter books when I was a kid. They have very, very cute pictures and all the books have tiny little repeating themes like the little spider that follows him through every book.

This book follows Little Critter as he tries to find someone to play with, but all the grown ups are busy. Being a typical (I'm guessing) 2nd grader he wants nothing to do with the little sister that is following him around trying to get him to play with her. Even though the main lesson of the story is that sometimes you can overlook the obvious solution - it also shows Little Critter playing on his own for a while each time before looking for a new playmate.
