New Moon was actually my favorite of the Twilight series (4 books in all). The reason I liked this one is because it focused more on Bella's friendship with Jacob then a silly, unbelievable romance with Edward. I find myself rolling my eyes each time Edward cradles Bella in his arms like a baby, instead of like a girlfriend. I think Jacob and Bella's relationship is more real and easier to relate to. I still thought the book lacked in climax and content and am still convinced that if it weren't for the huge popularity of the books, the movies, the posters, etc. It would just be your average teen book. |

I know I'm in the minority when I say that I thought this book was only ok. Normally when you hear Twilight, it is followed by a dreamy sigh and then a "wasn't it awesome?!" I did like the book, but I didn't think it was the greatest story ever told. I agree that it is a good romance for teen girls, it's clean and I appreciated that the young male characters were gentlemen instead of teen horn dogs. However, I feel like it lacked something. It was an easy read, but I was pretty bored until chapter 17 (the baseball game) and remember thinking to myself, finally some excitement. All in all, this is a good read for teenage girls (and even their mothers), but I feel like the excitement over the books is more of a fad. |

I had a few girlfriends recommend "The Hunger Games" to me but when they told me the gist of the story, it didn't seem like something I would be interested in. But I was finally talked into reading it and I was finished with it in 3 days! I absolutely loved it. I think the book offered a unique story, action/adventure, and even a little romance. I would definitely recommend for teenagers and adults (male and female).
